Penn State Abington art and information sciences and technology students, or "ArtISTs," are "mapping" Italy for a new independent study course that requires them to collaborate and ultimately produce a mixed-media reflection of their experiences abroad.

But this week, nine Penn State Abington students are connecting with the most powerless residents of our nation -- the homeless and the hungry. The annual Alternative Spring Break service learning project is a life-changing experience, according to Tracy Reed, coordinator of Student Life Programs at Abington campus. She said the trip, to which students must contribute financially in addition to sacrificing a week's vacation, helps them overcome stereotypes and bond with the less fortunate.

Abington THON crushes fundraising record for pediatric cancer patients

Penn State Abington's THONers may still be nursing sore feet from the 46-hour Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, but they also are still celebrating their role in a record year of fundraising for pediatric cancer patients.Abington THON raised $41,695.96, nearly $19,000 more than its previous record in 2011.

Laureate shares knowledge, insights with audiences across Pennsylvania

As the 2011-12 Penn State Laureate, Linda Miller has been crisscrossing the Commonwealth sharing her enthusiasm for the humanities with a wide variety of audiences, including students, faculty, staff and friends of Penn State campuses.
