Abington athletics wins President's Cup

Penn State Abington captured the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) President’s Cup, which is awarded to the top overall program in the 12-member conference. The 13 Abington teams finished the year with a combined .703 winning percentage.

Normal operations resume at Penn State Abington

A lockdown at Penn State Abington has been lifted and normal operations have resumed. Earlier this afternoon, authorities received a report of a person with a gun on campus. After an investigation, campus security personnel and local police determined that an individual brought a BB gun to campus. Police report that a suspect is in custody and that there never was any danger to campus residents.

Abington initiative 'crosses finish line' to become new Pa. law

Three faculty proudly witnessed Gov. Corbett sign a new law to benefit that originated at Abington. The legislation, mandating priority registration for vets, is rooted in a policy enacted first at Abington and then throughout the University. The new law requires state colleges and universities to offer priority registration to vets, whose education benefits under the federal GI Bill are only available for a limited time.

Five named CIC Academic Leadership Program Fellows

The Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Academic Leadership Program has gained five additional fellows from the Penn State ranks. The CIC is the academic consortium of the Big Ten universities plus the University of Chicago. Through its leadership program, participants who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise are aided in further developing their leadership and managerial skills.
