ABINGTON, Pa. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) named Penn State Abington freshman John Ryan its men's basketball Student Athlete of the Week.
Over three games, the 6-foot, 4-inch forward averaged 29 points and six rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the floor by:
— scoring 34 points against Penn College, leading Abington to a 82-70 win;
— leading the team with 31 points against Wells College; and
— hitting a game-high 22 points in a thrilling 95-85 overtime win against Keuka College.
Ryan, a health and human development major, enrolled at Abington after graduating from William Tennent High School in nearby Warminster.
Penn State Abington, formerly the Ogontz campus, offers baccalaureate degrees in 18 majors at its suburban location just north of Philadelphia. Nearly half of our 4,000 students complete all four years at Abington, with opportunities in undergraduate research, the Schreyer Honors Program, NCAA Division III athletics and more.
