ABINGTON, Pa. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) named Penn State Abington freshman John Ryan its men's basketball Student Athlete of the Week. 

Over three games, the 6-foot, 4-inch forward averaged 29 points and six rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the floor by:

— scoring 34 points against Penn College, leading Abington to a 82-70 win; 

— leading the team with 31 points against Wells College; and

— hitting a game-high 22 points in a thrilling 95-85 overtime win against Keuka College.

Ryan, a health and human development major, enrolled at Abington after graduating from William Tennent High School in nearby Warminster.
