Faculty Senate votes to reinstate alternative grading for spring 2021

After considerable debate at its first meeting of the semester, the Penn State Faculty Senate voted to implement an optional, opt-in alternative grading system for the spring 2021 semester. The 79-62 vote reinstates Senate Policy 49-70, which established the alternative grading system previously implemented during the spring and fall 2020 semesters to provide flexibility to undergraduate students adversely impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Time is running out for students to order required COVID-19 tests

As the Feb. 15 return to in-person instruction approaches, all Penn State students at all campus locations are reminded that they must have a negative COVID-19 test result from a University-provided test on file prior to, and within 72 hours of, their return to their campus community. Now is the time to order tests to receive results in time.

Brandywine, Abington collaborate on series of MLK Day events

Taking advantage of virtual meeting technology, Penn State Brandywine and Penn State Abington partnered on a series of events to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Reflecting the theme of this year’s Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, the events focused on COVID-19 and justice.
