Welcome Week at Penn State Abington focused on celebrating all that makes the campus home — the people, academics, research, the arts, and service culminating with the official welcome of Chancellor Damian J. Fernandez to the family.
Built around themes of excellence, the campus community explored new interests and indulged their passions with concerts, lectures, art and conversations. Go to Penn State Abington on Facebook to see all of the images.
Each academic division set aside a day to engage with and to demonstrate collaboration between faculty and students. The Division of Science and Engineering set up telescopes, math games, microscopes, and physiology tests.
The Day of Service found the campus community engaged on and off campus with nonprofits.
The Division of Social Sciences includes majors such as criminal justice, psychological and social sciences, business, and the registered nurse to bachelor's degree in nursing.
The Division of Arts & Humanities presented programs in music, theater, and film.
The Chancellor’s Convocation, a ceremony officially marking Damian J. Fernandez's tenure, followed a Cuban-themed lunch for the campus community.
The week wrapped up on Saturday with the first Penn State Abington Homecoming & Music Festival. It was open to the public and featured a Penn State football watch party, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and a daylong musical event sponsored by Yamaha.
