$50K awarded to Abington for maker/innovation space

The Invent Penn State seed funding competition awarded $50,000 to Penn State Abington to advance development of a maker/innovation space, enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the college and the surrounding community. It will create a vibrant community resource that combines maker and co-working areas with an innovation and idea hub.

Committee on Institutional Cooperation names five as fellows

The Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Academic Leadership Program has gained five additional fellows from the Penn State ranks. The CIC is the academic consortium of the Big Ten universities plus the University of Chicago. Through its leadership program, participants who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise are aided in further developing their leadership and managerial skills.

Abington, local school district unveil $5 million upgraded athletic fields

Penn State Abington and its community partner the Abington School District rededicated the upgraded and renovated Memorial Field last week, officially opening the athletic facility for shared use by the college, the school district, and the community. The college's NCAA Division III membership increased its competitiveness in the Philadelphia market leading Penn State Abington to initiate the $5 million-plus investment with no cost to the school district or local taxpayers.
