No specific courses are required, but ALL Penn State students must take English Rhetoric and Composition (ENG 15) and Effective Speaking (CAS 100). Honors students should take the honors section of ENG 30H instead of ENG 15 and an honors section of CAS 100.

The Schreyer Honors College is a nationally recognized program that admits students through a highly competitive process that is separate from admission to Penn State. Schreyer Scholars represent the top 2% of all Penn State students. Schreyer Scholars are required to write a thesis as part of their requirements for graduation, and students must complete required honors credits. Schreyer students are eligible for University funding for research and study abroad.
Current students with at least a 3.7 GPA can apply in the spring of their first or second year. The Abington honors coordinator hosts information sessions about the process each spring.
