Students participate in free events open only to Abington Honors and Schreyer students that deepen their connection to Greater Philadelphia and build connections with peers. Announcements about events can be found on the Honors Canvas page.
Previous Honors Activities
- Attended stage productions of FIRE!, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and the musical Suffs, all at Philadelphia theaters.
- Guided by a campus librarian and a history professor, students examined documents and memorabilia from the Ogontz School for Girls, which prior to closing in 1950 was located on the current Penn State Abington campus, followed by dinner.
- Lunch and a tour of the campus art gallery, led by Schreyer Scholar and student artist Sophie Bell.
- Dinner and a livestream lecture with journalist and NPR host Ayesha Rascoe.
- Lunch and a visit to the world-renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art in downtown Philadelphia.
