Spring 2026 Commencement FAQs

PSU Abington will host commencement on May 8, 2026, for all students completing degrees in Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026. 

General FAQs

  • Commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026.  

  • Ceremony times will be 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m.

  • Graduates should arrive no later than half an hour before their assigned ceremony 

  • Commencement will be held at the Keswick Theater, 291 N Keswick Ave, Glenside, PA 19038. 

All graduates, guests, faculty, staff and volunteers must pass through security to enter Keswick Theater. No exceptions per venue policy.

What time to graduates arrive? 
Graduates are asked to arrive at Keswick Theater one hour before the ceremony begins. Ceremony times will be 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m. Programs will be assigned a commencement time in March 2026. 

Where do graduates line up for the ceremony?
Graduates will check in at the Box Office door upon arrival. This is a separate entrance next to the main doors to the Keswick. Volunteers will help direct students to the Box Office door. Graduates will gather in a separate lounge before being pre-seated in the theater for commencement. Do not leave personal items in this room; bring everything with you into the theater.

What time do the doors open for guests? 
Doors will open to guests one hour before the commencement ceremony begins. Ceremony times will be 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m.

Is there a student rehearsal before the ceremony? 
No. Students are asked to report one hour before the ceremony begins dressed in their caps and gowns. Further instructions will be given to graduates upon arrival.

Will the ceremony be live-streamed?
Yes. The ceremony will be streamed on Penn State Abington's YouTube channel.   

Are noisemakers, signs, or balloons permitted at the ceremony?
No. These items are not permitted as they will block the view of other guests and/or disrupt the ceremony. If you arrive with these items, you will be asked to return them to your car.    

Will graduates receive diplomas at commencement? 
Diplomas are not distributed during commencement ceremonies. After all degree requirements are met and reviewed by the academic college and the Registrar’s Office (approximately eight weeks following commencement), diplomas will be mailed to the diploma address (if applicable) or permanent address set in LionPATH. 

How many guest tickets do graduates receive? 
Each graduate receives 5 tickets. Tickets are required for entry. Children 2 and under are free entry. No exceptions will be made. In the event of multiple ceremonies, tickets will be color-coded for the ceremony and are not interchangeable.

No tickets will be distributed on the day of commencement.    

Is there a specific accessible entryway, or are all entries accessible? 
Each separate public area in the venue is accessible. Please ask for assistance from staff upon arrival.  

Are there ADA accessible restrooms? If so, where are they?
The restrooms on the first floor have accessible stalls. 

Will you have sign language interpreters?
Yes. American Sign Language interpreters will be situated in front of the stage for both ceremonies. 

Are there viewing areas that comply with ADA requirements? 
When picking up tickets at the Graduation Fair, please indicate if you or a guest require(s) ADA-accessible seating. Ushers will guide guests who need ADA-accessible seating to the designated area on the day of the ceremony.

Can I get close to the stage and take a photo of my grad receiving their diploma? 
No, for safety reasons, only the professional photographer is permitted in the ceremony area to take photos. Guests are welcome to take photos from their seat. 
A selection of candid photos will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram accounts following commencement. 

Can I return to campus after the ceremony for photos?
Yes! Campus grounds will be open. We suggest taking photos around campus and at the iconic lion shrine.

Yes! Campus grounds will be open. We suggest returning to campus after your commencement ceremony to take photos on campus and at the iconic lion shrine.

Parking FAQs

There are a variety of parking options available near the Keswick Theatre. The parking lot behind the venue has pay-to-park kiosks. There are also pay-to-park options in Keswick Village with ParkMobile and free parking available in Glenside, near the theater.

Yes, ADA-accessible parking is available, including spaces in a lot across the street from the theater. There are also designated drop-off areas in front of the main entrance and in the adjacent alley. 

Yes, there are 75 paid parking spaces located directly behind the Keswick Theatre. This is the closest parking lot to the venue and includes pay-to-park kiosks for easy payment. 

ParkMobile is a mobile app (iOS and Android) that allows you to pay for parking without cash. Simply enter the zone number posted on nearby signage and pay for your space.

There are 68 ParkMobile parking spaces available throughout Keswick Village.

There are approximately 45 parking spaces available across two lots on Parkdale Avenue—20 in the left lot and 25 in the right. Please note that these lots are small and are expected to fill quickly, so plan to arrive early or consider alternative parking options.

There are 152 parking spaces available for commencement guests at New Life Presbyterian Church. Please note that a nursery school will be in session from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., so we ask all drivers to use extra caution and reduce speeds while in the lot. Vehicles must enter from Easton Road and exit onto Jenkintown Road.

Free parking is available in residential areas throughout Glenside. Please note that most neighborhood parking is limited to 2 hours.

How far is the walk to the Keswick Theatre?
Depending on where you park, the walk can range from approximately 5 to 15 minutes. Please plan accordingly when considering your arrival. 

For an event of this size, arriving early will give you the best chance of finding convenient parking. Doors open one hour before the commencement ceremony begins. Be sure to factor in walking time from your parking location.

If possible, please move your car promptly after the ceremony and continue your celebration elsewhere (such as returning to campus for photos). This helps free up parking for guests attending the next commencement ceremony.
