Resume? Check. Firm hand-shake? Check. Business suit? Students preparing to attend Abington’s bi-annual Career Expo may not yet own an appropriate business suit for interviews. So to help fill the need, the student group ENACTUS opens the doors to the “Career Closet” the week before the big day, giving Abington students the opportunity to select and purchase affordable, professional attire as they prepare to meet potential employers who fill the Athletic building on campus.
Both Brian ‘21 and Endiola ‘18, agreed that the Career Closet provides students with attire that boosts their confidence at the Career Expo, job interviews, and other professional settings.
The student group ENACTUS is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives. Shane ’20, President of ENACTUS stated, "the Career Closet gives students the opportunity to purchase quality business wear, which may otherwise be unaffordable". Generous donations allowed students to purchase items for as little as $2; one student even purchased an entire career wardrobe for less than $100.
The professional attire is donated by alumni, staff, and community members who believe in the value of students having access to affordable and quality professional attire that will be beneficial to their job-search. If you are interested in donating gently used business wear, please contact Liz Janczewski at [email protected] or (267) 633-3334, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
The Career Closet is used by students from all majors at Penn State Abington.
