Integrative Arts

Why study Integrative Arts?

Integrative Arts allows students to design their own multi-disciplinary major using the spectrum of courses offered at Abington. Integrative Arts appeals to self-motivated students who want to direct their own educational plan.

Design a major that will help you achieve specialized training for a career of your choosing. Students formulate a theme they wish to explore by integrating one or more areas of the arts or art history with a cluster of courses from any other discipline (business, science, psychology, humanities, etc.).

John Pachence

John Pachence, Program Coordinator for Performing Arts, at the helm of the legendary Trident A Range console at Cherokee Studios in Hollywood, California. Abington students enrolled in the Music Performance & Entrepreneurship curriculum receive the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to work in state-of-the-art studios like this.

Alia Tahvildaran

Penn State Abington's undergraduate program provided the experiences I needed to feel grounded and connected to learning and career paths. In my Integrative Arts degree I was able to explore and blend my love of literature, writing, and studio art in a way that let me learn and tell my story. Opportunities to test out my varied interests and skills through coursework, independent studies, and community outreach programs gave me a solid foundation for my career in art education.

As an artist I am still exploring themes of nature and family history I started investigating as an undergraduate student. As an art educator I try to build strong relationships with my students in the same way I felt nurtured and supported by the faculty at Penn State Abington.

Alia Tahvildaran, Integrative Arts graduate
