Student Conduct

The Penn State Abington Conduct Standards Office seeks to take a proactive approach to student conduct through education and outreach.

Our goal is to provide students with the necessary tools required for the practice of responsible decision-making that demonstrates a depth of understanding for on and off-campus behavior.

The growth and development of all students is important to us.

The University accepts its obligation to provide an atmosphere that protects and promotes its educational mission and which guarantees its orderly and effective operation.

Standards of conduct, practices and rules have been established.

These guidelines are found in the Code of Conduct & Student Conduct Procedures and in the Penn State Abington Student Handbook.

Lions Gate Residence Hall

We expect and encourage students to have multiple points and opportunities for interaction with peers.  These interactions will play an important role in the formation of friendships and lifelong relationships.

Understanding that student interactions may journey into the residence hall, it is important to understand that all students (resident and commuter) are expected to abide by the rules and regulations that have been established for the residence hall.

It is the responsibility of each student to educate themselves to ensure they are not participating in disruptive behavior that will place them at risk of violating the University's Code of Conduct and/or the Housing Terms, Conditions and Regulations.

Education, Outreach and Leadership Opportunities

Students, faculty and staff are able to partner with the Conduct Standards Office through participation in various education, outreach and volunteer opportunities. These opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Becoming a member of the Abington College Conduct Board (students, faculty and staff)
  • Serving on the Student Organization Conduct Committee Panel (students)
  • Participating in and/or requesting a Stand for State Bystander Intervention program (students, faculty and staff)
  • Serving as an Administrative Hearing Officer (faculty and staff)
  • Assisting with Outreach Program planning (students)

Are you interested in requesting a program or learning more about opportunities and services available through the Conduct Standards Office? Feel free to contact Keisha Johnson at [email protected] for additional information.
