Penn State Abington basketball player earns conference honor

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) named Penn State Abington junior guard Shayna Rodriguez its women's basketball player of the week for her outstanding three-game stretch.

The Philadelphia native averaged 23 points per game and recorded seven rebounds in three games. She led her team to a 2-1 start and is approaching the 1,000 career points milestone. She was named to the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team at Rutgers Newark along with senior Brittany Keyes.

Penn State Abington, formerly the Ogontz campus, offers baccalaureate degrees in 19 majors at its suburban location just north of Philadelphia. Nearly half of its 4,000 students complete all four years at Abington, with opportunities in undergraduate research, the Schreyer honors program, NCAA Division III athletics, and more. Students can start the first two years of more than 160 Penn State majors at Abington and complete their degrees at University Park or another campus. Lions Gate, our first residence hall, opened in August 2017.
