Sixty-six Penn State Abington students each will receive $50 vouchers to purchase textbooks thanks to the support of Abington faculty and staff, and the creative thinking of their colleagues. "Abington faculty and staff have a well-deserved reputation for truly caring about students in and out of the classroom," said Ross Brinkert, co-chairman of the Faculty and Staff Campaign. "This extends that commitment even further."
Penn State Abington THON kicked off fundraising for the 2013 IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon with a record-smashing weekend of canning that raised more than $8,300, beating the previous record by more than $2,000. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world and engages more than 15,000 Penn State students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Its goal is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing emotional and financial support to children, families, researchers and staff at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital through the Four Diamonds Fund.
