A multimedia, interactive presentation focusing on the Beatles' songwriting practices, recording artistry and musicianship, will be presented at Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies in Malvern, Pa. Beatles' scholar Ken Womack will present “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles,” 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern, Pa. The event is free and open to the public, but preregistration is required.
The joyous announcement yesterday that THON 2014, Penn State’s annual dance marathon to benefit the fight against pediatric cancer, raised $13 million brings up an inevitable question: How do a bunch of college students raise that much money? The answer: Through organizations such as Abington THON, a band of about 60 students that spent months collecting donations big and small to contribute almost $36,000 to the THON total.
