Penn State Abington Elementary & Early Childhood Education majors distributed winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots at its partnership school, McClure Elementary in Philadelphia.
"Purses With a Purpose" is the title of a collection drive sponsored by 3 programs: Education, PSS and CRIMJ. New and gently used purses as well as toiletries and personal items for women will be collected and donated to Laurel House ( a shelter for victims of domestic violence.)
Terri and Al Paramito were both first generation college students and understand the financial difficulties some students might be facing.
Terri: "Knowing we could help students graduate really motivated us."
Al: "The scholarship makes college an achievable goal. It’s no longer an impossible dream. It’s a Penn State degree of the same quality, no matter which campus you attend."
Writing on walls and tables is frowned on in most public spaces, but the staff of the renovated Penn State Abington library views scribbles as signs of success.
