Non-Penn State students registering for the first time at Penn State, or who have attended Penn State but are not currently enrolled, must complete and submit this form.
A person enrolled in a course who is not a degree candidate or degree-seeking student conditionally enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) is classified as a nondegree student (policy 02-80).
Any person having received a high school diploma or its equivalent may be permitted to register as a nondegree student. Students who have been dropped from degree status by Penn State or any other college or university because of unsatisfactory scholarship also may be permitted to register as a nondegree student (policy 14-00).
Submitting this form starts the multi-step registration process which is described below:
- Submit the initial registration form
- Email a copy of your government issued ID to [email protected]
- PSU will enter your information into our system, called LionPATH
- You will receive two emails from PSU, one asking you to create an account with a password, the other asking you to complete a registration activity guide
- When you have completed all of the above, your account will be active and you will be able to register online for courses once registration opens.
- If you are registering for a course that has prerequisites, please complete the prerequisite override form in LionPATH.
- All nondegree students register on a space available basis.
- Nondegree students who change from degree candidates to nondegree or who intend to become degree candidates must obtain academic advising from an adviser designated by the academic unit to which admission or re-enrollment is desired.
- Enrollment as a nondegree student does not imply admission to the University.
