Student talking to a counselor

A new collaboration between Penn State Abington and Moravian University allows students to save money and time while pursuing both their bachelor's and master’s degrees.

Request Information

The 4+2 Pathway Program in Clinical or School Counseling allows qualified Penn State Abington undergraduate students majoring in Psychological and Social Sciences and/or Rehabilitation and Human Services to obtain pre-admission to Moravian's master of arts in Clinical Counseling or School Counseling programs.

Psychological and Social Sciences, and/or Rehabilitation and Human Services majors with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average can apply. If provisionally admitted, Abington students will be eligible to take up to 15 credits tuition-free in master's-level coursework in either the clinical counseling or school counseling programs at Moravian.

Program Description

If conditionally accepted by Moravian, students would be eligible to take up to 15 credits of master’s-level coursework at Moravian tuition-free while continuing to be enrolled at Penn State Abington. During the fall or spring semester, Penn State Abington students can take one graduate course (3 credits) per semester (fall or spring). During the summer, Penn State Abington students can take up to two graduate courses (6 credits). In total, Penn State Abington students can take up to 15 credits maximum in the Pathway Program. After students graduate from Penn State Abington, they would be considered Moravian students and would pay tuition there. The goal of this Pathway Program is to save qualified Penn State Abington students both time and money toward completing the master's degree at Moravian.

Please note that graduate coursework in this program cannot be applied toward undergraduate degree requirements at Penn State Abington and cannot be applied toward graduate programs at other universities.

Hailey Gamble

My experience within the master’s program has been great! Working for a master's degree is not nearly as daunting as I thought. I’ll get classes for free while finishing out my undergraduate work. This program has allowed me to take what I’ve learned and see how I can apply it. I would 100% recommend participating in the pathway program with Moravian.

Hailey Gamble, Penn State Abington Class of 2025, Master's Degree Candidate
