PRE-REQUISITES ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE: IST 250 or a solid understanding of HTML and CSS

Web programming refers to the writing, markup and coding involved in web development, which includes web client scripting programming languages like JavaScript and server scripting like PHP. This course will give you the opportunity to learn the web technologies needed to design and develop a dynamic website.

In this class throughout the semester, you will collaborate and work virtually on a Web programming project with German students and a professor from Hof University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Additionally, the course will expose you to the German culture, language and web project development methodologies. There will be a reciprocal exchange with Hof University during this course. Professors and students from Hof University will visit Penn State Abington College in October to be part of the class and a group of Penn State Abington College students (travel is optional) will travel to Berlin and Hof University in November during fall break (Thanksgiving) as part of the class.
