Session 1
Digital Workplace Transformation
Speaker: Trish Cappiello, Senior IT Manager, Vanguard
This session will highlight emerging technologies, transformational changes in the workplace, and the reasons why some futuristic technologies may not be the right fit for all companies and sectors. You will develop an understanding of the importance of the user experience, integration and interconnectivity, scalability and availability, and best practices in assessing and adapting to change.
Ms. Cappiello leads Digital Advisor Tools for Vanguard. Her career has included roles such as business intelligence developer, full-stack developer, project manager, mobility service owner, and delivery lead as well as chief of staff. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Penn State.
Session 2
Connecting Business to Community
Speaker: William J. Drennen, Associate Fellow Lockheed Martin, Systems Engineer, Sr. Staff
Mr. Drennen has 35 years’ experience as a recognized expert in the fields of Radio Frequency (RF), microwave design, Digital receivers and Software Defined Radio (SDR). He is currently working on SDR development and wireless communications for Electronic Warfare (EW) and cyber applications with Lockheed Martin RMS division in Valley Forge, PA.
He holds a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University. Prior to Lockheed Martin Mr. Drennen has split his carrier equally between space/defense technologies and commercial wireless. For 16 years Mr. Drennen developed digital receivers for Trueposition in King of Prussia, PA for 911 location. His receivers have been deployed across the country for AT&T and T-Mobile.
Mr. Drennen holds 2 patents in millimeter wave component design and digital receiver architectures, has authored papers and developed a course on Software Defined Radio.

Crisis in Healthcare: The Internet of Health
Factors including the aging population, social inequity, gaps in medical literacy and numeracy, and fewer healthcare providers are impacting healthcare system delivery and are making a supply-and-demand mismatch seem inevitable. Our speakers will explore ways that standards-based care documentation, novel technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the internet of health can help prevent poor health-related outcomes among our most vulnerable populations.

- Paulo B. Pinho, M.D., Vice President and Medical Director of Innovation, Availity
Dr. Pinho provides clinical expertise and thought leadership on existing and emerging regulations, quality measures, healthcare data standards, and technologies. He formerly was the chief medical officer at Optimum Life Reinsurance and the lead medical director for Prudential International Insurance where he was responsible for global innovation in the Asian and Latin American markets.
- Sam Schifman, Chief Architect for Clinical Solutions, Availity
Mr. Schifman supports the design of next generation architecture, raises awareness of product capabilities, supports sales, and engages in research. He is currently advancing standards for AI/NLP outputs, and he is interested in the impact of home hospitals and wearables on the future of healthcare. His goal is to build an effective, responsible partnership between patients, providers, payers, and loved ones.
