This engaging and educational summer camp is designed for students aged 15 to 17 who are interested in exploring the field of forensic science. Offered in collaboration with the Abington Police Department, the program combines classroom learning with real-world applications to provide a comprehensive introduction to crime scene investigation.
During the first two days, campers will participate in interactive, hands-on laboratory activities to learn essential forensic science techniques and how they are used to solve crimes.
On Wednesday, June 25, representatives from the Abington Police Department will visit Penn State Abington to conduct a special presentation. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with members of the K-9 and SWAT units, with additional demonstrations to be announced.
The final day of camp includes an exciting field trip to Eagleville, PA, where students will tour the local 911 Call Center and the Coroner’s Office. This trip is included in the camp fee. Campers should bring a boxed lunch, which they will enjoy at the 911 Call Center.
