Circuit Coders Meets Programming Electronics Camp

Electronics and Programming Adventure!

The previous Circuit Coders course was developed to be a fun way for students to learn electronics. This year, the students are being exposed to more complex circuits, which they will build themselves using raw components, wires, breadboards and an Arduino microcontroller. As with the Circuit Coders course, the student needs no prior programming experience. We will use kits which are designed to teach students how to build projects that perform multiple functions using sensors (distance, motion, temperature, light, etc.) and actuators (motors, lights, sounds, displays). The students will become familiar with the C++ programming language by using and modifying example code provided by the vendors. The overall focus of this program is to immerse the students in the world of electronics all around them. Everything that we use in this high-tech world is a combination of components that are controlled through different processing means.

E-Sports and Coding

Step into the exciting world of competitive gaming and digital creativity at Penn State Abington’s Esports and Coding Camp. Designed for gamers of all levels—from casual players to aspiring professionals—this camp offers an immersive experience in the rapidly growing field of esports. Campers will develop their skills in popular titles such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., and other games of their choosing, while learning key strategies in teamwork, communication, and competitive play. Participants will take part in fun scrimmages and friendly tournaments, gaining confidence and making new connections along the way. In addition to esports, the camp introduces foundational coding skills. Younger students will begin their programming journey using Scratch, a beginner-friendly visual coding platform. Older students will take their skills further by designing and building original games, which will be tested and enjoyed by the younger campers.
This dynamic program fosters creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of both game development and esports competition.
