Abington offers two new support groups for students

Penn State Abington is reaching out to students who are struggling to find their place in the college community with the formation of two new support groups, according to Donna Monk, director of health services at Abington.

Nontraditional students who may feel they have little in common with their classmates are invited to lunch on Mondays beginning Feb. 6. They will meet at Common Break in Room 102A, Lares Building. The sessions will be facilitated by Rachel Breskman, a licensed psychologist and certified addictions counselor.

Making Connections is the second group that Breskman will lead. She will work with students who are having difficulty fitting in to the community and making friends. Making Connections will meet on Tuesdays at Common Break in Room 102A Lares, beginning the week of Feb. 6.

Anyone seeking information on these or other support groups can contact Monk at 215-881-7350 or [email protected] or Breskman at 215-881-7577 or [email protected].
