City Rhythm Orchestra with Ray Gelato at Abington

City Rhythm Orchestra & Ray Gelato will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, at Penn State Abington. The 15-piece big band will present “Jump, Jive & Wail” with vocals by Steve Ritrovato and Vicki Woodlyn. Popular European singer-saxophonist Ray Gelato also will perform with the band.

Based in London, Gelato has been an acclaimed singer and saxophonist for almost three decades. He is highly regarded by critics for his reverent approach to the standards as well as the distinct imprint he leaves on the classic jazz tradition. He can evoke the vocal stylings of Louis Prima and Dean Martin and then effortlessly move into a ballad on his lush tenor saxophone. classic jazz tradition.
