Join Penn State Abington faculty member and opioid epidemic expert Dr. Glenn Sterner for a look at the challenges of opioid use disorder recovery and stigma as it relates to the workplace.

Dr. Glenn Sterner is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at The Pennsylvania State University, Abington campus. As an expert on the opioid epidemic, he sits on the Opioid Overdose Task Force for the state of Pennsylvania. He is also a founding member of the Penn State Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse advisory board. He is an affiliated faculty of the Criminal Justice Research Center at Penn State University Park. He serves as a faculty fellow of the Penn State University Administrative Data Accelerator. He is the founder of the Share Your Opioid Story initiative, found at http://shareyouropioidstory.com/

Don Tollefson, former 6abc Action News sportscaster, will facilitate discussion among a panel of professionals experienced in:

  • case management
  • employee assistance programs
  • health insurance
  • hiring
  • legal concerns
  • recovery
  • union employment

Valuable strategies for successfully transitioning those in recovery back to the workplace will be discussed.
