Biography
Wan Wei is an Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication at Penn State Abington. Her research lies at the intersection of health and organizational communication, focusing on how individuals and families make sense of one another’s communication behaviors in both medical and everyday contexts. Using conversation analysis and related discourse methods, she has examined patient–family–provider interactions in healthcare encounters, vaccine hesitancy discussions in online spaces, and nurses’ communication about work–family balance and social support. Her work has been published in journals such as Health Communication, Social Science & Medicine, and Communication Monographs.
