Students and staff headed to nearby Ambler to work on projects with the Interfaith Housing Alliance. Others stayed on campus, making sandwiches, blankets, and gifts for children with cancer. Another group put in a few hours of labor at nearby Brian Bush Nature Center.
Business major Febin Matthew and other students discussed Abington's role in preparing graduates to give back and to live productive lives after Penn State. He said his supervisors at his internship treated him as any other employee: "They asked me to start doing advanced functions with software. I didn't know it so I taught myself."
The University will hold a Town Hall meeting 3-5 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Pavilion Theatre at University Park. The meeting will be livestreamed and available for all Penn State campuses to view.
