Penn State Abington art students create a replica of the Red October submarine from the film "The Hunt for Red October."

Art students at Penn State Abington launch their replica of the Poseidon while the Nautilus floats just behind it.

Students in a sculpture class for first-year art major created a six-foot long replica of the cruise ship Poseidon from the 1970s film "The Poseidon Adventure" using cardboard, hot glue, and duct tape.

H. John Thompson, assistant teaching professor of art, launches the Nautilus from the film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

The Orca, the fishing boat from the film "Jaws;" the Poseidon from "The Poseidon Adventure;" and the Red October from "The Hunt for Red October" sail across the duck pond at Penn State Abington.

Penn State Abington students majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education raised the money to purchase a Buddy Bench at Overlook Elementary School in Abington Township.

The Nittany Lion joins the children at Overlook Elementary School while Penn State Abington students read stories about respect for others.

Penn State Abington baseball player Austin Mikula noticed an older woman struggling to make her way to the baseball field last week. He dropped his gear, helped her to her seat, and then headed into the dugout. A parent referred to Austin as a class act.  According to Deb Solfaro, Director of Athletics, Intramurals, and Recreation at Abington, “Austin works hard. He is strong willed, and he has grown tremendously ... this year. We are proud of him.”
