A Penn State Abington student was stunned to discover plastics contaminating what she assumed would be the pristine Caribbean Sea. It kickstarted her sustainability mission and focused her on a new career goal, coral restoration.
Penn State Abington students Megan Close and Molly Davis present the mosaic they created in the Sutherland Building to the campus community. During the development process, they researched murals as a form of community engagement, developed and distributed surveys, and designed the mural, which was determined to be a tile mosaic. With the assistance of faculty member Chris Bonner, the students handmade each tile over the course of a year.
