Outstanding Research and Creative Works Fellowship (ORCF)

The Outstanding Research and Creative Works Fellowship (OCRF) supports meritorious projects for faculty engaged in exemplary research or creative works with the potential for national and international impact. Only one ORCF is awarded annually, which provides a course release to be used within the award period. Applications are due each year by September 15. Faculty Teaching Innovation Fellowship (FTIF)

The Faculty Teaching Innovation Fellowship (FTIF) program supports meritorious projects for faculty engaged in pedagogical innovations to enhance student success. Only one FTIF is awarded annually, which provides a course release to be used within the award period. Applications are due each year by September 15. Career Development Professorship (CDP)

The Career Development Professorship (CDP) was endowed by Sallie Mae Chief Executive Officer Al Lord and his wife, Suzanne. It was first awarded in 2003 and provides two years of financial support to a tenure-line Abington faculty member to advance their academic career. The CDP carries a stipend of $9,000 each year for two consecutive years ($18,000 total). During that period, funds may be used to support travel, equipment and supplies, course release time, summer salary, research assistants, survey expenses, conference or workshop fees, and other related expenses. Summer Faculty Fellowship (SFF)

The Summer Faculty Fellowship (SFF) program provides $4,000 of summer support to tenure-line faculty for a project involving research or creative works. In general, only three SFFs are awarded annually, and recipients may not apply for another SFF until two years have passed since receiving the award. Applications are due each year by February 15. Summer Grants Fellowship (SGF)

The Summer Grants Fellowship (SGF) program provides $4,000 of summer support for the purpose of writing a grant to extramural funding agencies. In general, only one SGF is awarded annually, and recipients may not apply for another SGF until two years have passed since receiving the award. Applications are due each year by February 15. Faculty Development Grant (FDG)

The Faculty Development Grant (FDG) program provides financial support for scholarly activities of the faculty. FDGs are intended to foster new research or creative works, innovative teaching initiatives, or other faculty development endeavors. There is no set limit to the number of FDGs that may be awarded.
