SEAL's LionShare Pantry and Market is a food collective on campus dedicated to:
- promoting awareness of, and combating food insecurity
- offering bag pick up service and gift card assistance to supplement food and personal hygiene needs
- easing financial burdens
- providing confidential resources to all Penn State Abington Students
These resources include non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables and soups, cereal, oatmeal, rice and pasta, snacks, condiments, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
In addition, LionShare partners with Philabundance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to hunger relief, that provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the campus community once a week during the semester. Stay tuned for an update on the delivery schedule.
Students can sign up for LionShare's Bag Pickup Service by completing an intake form. Once approved, they will receive one bag of non-perishable items each week.
The pantry is located across from 103 Lares (the campus health and wellness suite).
Lionshare is facilitated by students for students and funded solely by grants and donations. A generous grant from the Leo and Peggy Pierce Family Foundation Grant funds intern wages for two students, gift card assistance, and restocking the pantry. A gift from Stan and Lois Singer provided food purchases for the pantry and gift card assistance.
