About LionShare
LionShare: The Pantry and Market is a food collective dedicated to providing resources to all students of Penn State Abington. These resources include non-perishable food items, fresh produce, recipes, and cooking classes.
The Pantry is Penn State Abington’s on-campus food pantry, dedicated to promoting awareness on food insecurity on college campuses, and providing non-perishable food items to students. Items include canned vegetables and fruits, canned soups, rice, and pasta, etc. These items are received through donations and food drives.
The Market is a partnership with Philabundance, a non-profit organization dedicated to hunger relief, that provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the campus community once a week on Fridays.
LionShare Today
The LionShare Food Pantry and Market's physical locations and services are closed currently. With the pandemic in mind, we have shifted our services to a virtual format and can provide students with access to local services and Target gift cards to supplement their food needs. LionShare has implemented a gift card assistance program for students facing food insecurity. Any Penn State Abington student can apply and receive target gift cards to help buy necessities like food and personal hygiene items. Students can apply each month after sending their receipts to be approve.

Once Penn State Abington can safely resume in-person operations, LionShare Food Pantry and Market will then return to supporting students in its physical locations on campus:
Food Pantry: Lares Student Center Lion’s Den (across from the Nurse’s Office). Hours vary.
Farmer’s Market (supported by Philabundance): typically held on Fridays at 12 pm outside of the Athletic Building.
