Upcycling

Calling all crafters and young engineers! This camp will feature creative projects that emphasize resourcefulness and use materials in new and exciting ways. Materials necessary will be found around the house and campers will have the opportunity to be inspired, foster their creativity, and create projects that will last. Even more importantly– reuse items and keep them from being put in landfills!


Dates: July 19 - 23, 2021

Times: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. synchronous, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. asynchronous

Tentative Schedule:

Each day, there will be a different focus on taking objects around the house or outside and repurposing them into a craft or something useful. There is a recommended activity each day that can take between 1-2 hours to complete independently. Every Friday at 11:00AM, feel free to join us on Zoom to showcase that week’s projects!

Recommended supplies to have on hand (a full supply list will be sent out before the program):

  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Old plastic gum container
  • Newspaper
  • Old t-shirt and old pair of jeans
  • Ruler
  • Tin cans
  • Paper towel or toilet paper tubes
  • Paint
  • Glass jars
  • Bottle caps
  • Wire hangers
