Civic and Community Engagement Minor

The Intercollege Minor in Civic and Community Engagement is the perfect fit for students interested in engaging in socially meaningful public scholarship and impactful creative endeavors that involve experiential learning within community settings. Through a combination of classroom learning and field experience, the minor empowers students to serve their communities and organizations in various roles. This “learning-by-doing” allows students to integrate awareness of public issues and understanding of civic responsibilities into their academic and professional careers. It aims to equip students with essential skills to practice civil responsibility, gain insight into the personal values of others and further develop their career interests and personal goals. This minor can easily be paired with any of Abington’s four-year degrees.
