ABINGTON, Pa. — Registration is open for Penn State Abington Kids and Teen College summer programs and camps, which are designed for youth entering grades 3 through 12 in fall 2024, according to Annamarie McKevitt, the summer youth program director.

“Our Kids and Teens College summer programs provide a balance of high-quality instructional content along with the social activities expected at summer camps. Many of our programs are developed with our faculty, and Abington students and staff provide additional support in content areas, bringing the campus experience to life,” she said.

McKevitt maintains high standards for hiring Kids and Teen program instructors.

“They are certified educators as well as leading professionals in their respective fields, and our instructors are passionate about the content,” McKevitt said.

Among the new camps for 2024 are the Forensic Institute and Page-Turner Paradise, and some returning camps have been adapted so younger students can build financial literacy and exposure to varied artistic mediums. TechCrafters is a popular program, and it includes access to Abington’s state-of-the-art MakerSpace with a 3D printer, vinyl cutter/plotter and laser engraver.

Many camps focus on career exploration in STEAM fields, business and criminal justice. The complete list can be found here

Camps are scheduled for six weeks beginning June 26 and ending Aug. 10 with no programming the week of July 3. They will meet Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Discounts are offered when registering for multiple weeks, and daily lunch is available from the campus cafeteria.
