The Abington Online and Information Technology (OIT) department is supported by a dedicated team of part-time staff members who provide essential tier-one user support across campus. These student employees play a critical role in maintaining daily IT operations while managing full academic course loads.
Job Overview
- Work Commitment: Staff typically work 8–20 hours per week, balancing professional responsibilities with their studies.
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Help desk coverage in the Woodland and Sutherland buildings, offering walkup support for faculty, staff, and students.
- Phone support to troubleshoot issues and respond to service requests.
- ServiceNow ticket management, including creating, tracking, and resolving support tickets.
- Classroom AV support, ensuring instructional technology functions smoothly.
- Event support, providing technical assistance for special campus events.
- Printing support and troubleshooting across campus facilities.
- VR headset program support for classroom uses and emerging technologies.
- WiFi, account management, and software support for end users.
- Team collaboration, communicating effectively with peers and fulltime staff on support requests.
- Project assistance, contributing to larger IT initiatives alongside fulltime staff.
