Research suggests that today's workforce is more spread out, independent, and diverse. More than ever the success of a newer supervisor, manager, or team lead depends on: effectively engaging diverse team members, staying connected with employees regardless of locale, and creating accountability, all while displaying emotional intelligence.
Penn State offers a supervisor development program that provides the knowledge and skills needed to lead today's employees effectively. The certificate consists of four courses; each course consists of four half-day modules (for a total of 16 modules).
All classes are instructor-led and held virtually, using Zoom video-conferencing technology. The courses are competency-based and geared for immediate application in the workplace.
