Composers of the Holocaust Era, and Beyond by the Meiravi Quartet
The Meiravi Quartet brings to life works by composers whose lives were impacted by the Holocaust and an original piece inspired by the story of one brave youth. The quartet brings this powerful repertoire back to the stage through research, performance, and remembrance.
Featuring works by Alexander Zemlinsky, Hans Krása, and Erwin Schulhoff, the program also includes "String Quartet No. 7" from Grynszpan by Meiravi Quartet violinist Peter Nocella—a work that tells the true story behind Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass, which was a prelude to the Holocaust. Avi Nocella will illuminate the musical pieces with narration.
