Interview on the Penn State Abington campus to increase your visibility and widen your candidate pool. Our recently renovated interview space provides a convenient and professional setting. We widely promote on-campus interviewing opportunities to students.
Employers with college-level full-time positions and internship positions are permitted to interview on campus.
Steps to Interview On Campus
Request Date in Nittany Lion Careers
From your NLC dashboard, go to OCI > Schedules > Request a Schedule
In the OCI Session drop-down list, choose Abington Campus
Choose your schedule options and Submit
- Your requested date should be at least 4 weeks away. For interviews in less time, please explain your request in the notes section.
- The most common type of OCI Model requested is Preselect to Alternate. See details below in "OCI Model".
- If your interview schedule structure is complicated, we can help! Please select a basic setup in your request and then reach out to our team at [email protected] for assistance.
- If you are new to Nittany Lion Careers, sign up at the employer login link for a free account.
You will receive a message once Penn State Abington approves your requested date (usually within 2 business days), or we will reach out if we have any questions.
Post Your Position
Once your schedule request is approved, post your position(s) in Nittany Lion Careers in the OCI section > Positions, regardless of the OCI Model you selected (Preselect to Alternate, Room Reservation Only, etc.).
Students view your position information and submit a resume and other documents using the method/instructions you provided in the posting.
Career & Professional Development shares your position information with appropriate students and faculty to raise your visibility.
Select Your Candidates
When the application deadline has passed, log into Nittany Lion Careers and select your candidates.
Selected students are notified and log into Nittany Lion Careers to select an available interview time.
You are able to view the progress of your interview schedule in Nittany Lion Careers.
OCI Availability
On-Campus interviewing is available mid-October through early December in the fall semester and mid-January through mid-April in the spring semester. Daily availability is 8:30am - 4:30pm.
OCI Model
Choosing the Preselect to Alternate OCI Model will allow students to see your position description(s) in Nittany Lion Careers and submit a resume and other documents in the system. All applicant resumes are in one place for you to quickly review and select your candidates.
If you need to use your own applicant system, you can ask students to submit a resume in NLC AND apply in your own applicant system when you set up your position posting in Nittany Lion Careers. Doing so makes it easy to use Nittany Lion Careers to select your candidates and allows students to sign up in NLC for an interview time.
For the Room Reservation Only OCI Model, you post your position in Nittany Lion Careers and direct students to apply on your applicant site. Or you can meet students at our Career Expo. You arrange the interview schedule, notifying students that the interview will take place in Lares Building Room 206. Please provide a copy of your schedule to Career & Professional Development at least two days prior to your on-campus interview date.
Your Interview Day
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your first interview. We provide free parking for all of your representatives, as well as complimentary lunch in our cafeteria. Students check in at our career center.
Fees
There is no fee to take advantage of our convenient, on-campus interviewing.
