PSUTXT is a service designed to alert the Penn State community via text messages to cell phones when situations arise on campus that affect the ability of the campus -- students, faculty and staff -- to function normally.
University will transition to new emergency messaging service the summer of 2014. Then, Penn State will transition to a new emergency messaging system, away from the current service known as PSUTXT.
The transition to the new service, which will be called PSUAlert, will begin in late May and will continue through June. No action is required at this time; to learn more, visit this link.
Alerts are specific to campuses.
Subscribers also can elect to have text messages sent to their phone or to have alerts sent to an e-mail address.
