Fast Facts about Penn State Abington
Location: 15 miles north of Center City, Philadelphia, in suburban Abington
Character: Set in 45 wooded acres, the campus features a traditional college atmosphere along with the benefits and prestige of a large university
Students: 3,250 full- and part- time; 50 percent are men and 50 percent are women; 29 percent are ethnic minorities; 16 percent are over the age of 23
Faculty: 107 full time; student to teacher ratio: 17:1; classes are taught by faculty, not by teacher's assistants
Academics: First 2 years of more than 160 Penn State majors; 15 baccalaureate degree programs, one which is specifically for adult students; 2 associate degree programs
