| Non-Degree Credits |
Students take non-degree credits at Penn State for a variety of reasons:
- enhance their personal growth and development;
- to get some course work done before they are admitted toPenn State;
- to get prerequisite courses before they enter post graduate programs;
- to get ahead by taking non-degree credits during the summer.
You can enroll on a full or part-time basis. You must meet any prerequisites that are required for the course(s) you wish to take, and enrollment as a non-degree student does not imply that you have been admitted or readmitted into Penn State University. Non-degree credits will automatically turn into degree credits once you are admitted into a Penn State degree program.
As a non-degree student you are responsible for your own advising, but the staff in our Advising Center will be glad to help you if you ask for assistance.
If you are taking non-degree courses you will not be able to receive financial aid. If you eventually go from non-degree to degree status, you will then be able to receive financial aid.
