Veterans Club hosts a forum - April 10

The newly-formed Veterans Club gathered combat veterans to field informal questions about their experiences on April 10. Over sixty students, staff and faculty attended. Nathan Lent, Veterans Club President and former Special Forces medic, served as moderator.

The event gave Penn State Abington veterans a chance to talk about their experiences and pass along any lessons they learned or amazing stories about their military experiences in Iraq or Afganistan.

  • Eldion Pajollari, an Albanian emigree, expressed his heart-felt grief for six of his fellow Marines who were killed in action
  • Rob Farrell and Tiffany Dalagelis, both having served in civil affairs, described working with civil authorities to provide critical infrastructure needs such as roads, clinics, schools, power plants and water treatment facilities
  • Fred Clayton, a helicopter gunner related his experience of having his aircraft hit by groung fire and being forced to land in the desert.
  • Doug Downing who served as a truck driver delivering much needed supplies to our troops on the dangerous IED infested roads of Iraq.
