Summer Oakes: Author, Model and host on Discovery Channel
“Don't Call Us Your Future”
Summer Rayne Oakes, Eco-model and author of Style, Naturally, the first global guide to
sustainable beauty and fashion. Outside Magazine recognized her as one the "Top
Environmental All-Stars," Vanity Fair highlighted her as an influential "Global Citizen,"
Cosmopolitan Magazines named her "Fun Fearless Female of 2007," Amica Magazine called
her one of the "Top 20 Trendsetters under 40," and CNN highlighted her as a "Young Person
Who Rocks." Oakes writes a sustainable fashion editorial called, "Behind the Label" for Lucire
Magazine, and produces S4, a sustainability trends in fashion newsletter, subscribed by over 30
countries, 30+ universities, multiple press outlets, and companies such as, Wal-Mart, Levis,
GAP, Quicksilver, Urban Outfitters and others. A Cornell graduate, Oakes has consulted for a
number of high-profile clients on environmental communications, market research and
sustainable business strategies.

Jackie Guerra: Hispanic Heritage Month
“Think Globally, Act Locally”
Jackie Guerra is the first Latina to star in a network sitcom (WB's First Time Out) and a former
Union organizer who marched with Cesar Chavez. She co-starred in the critically acclaimed
PBS series, American Family, in addition to appearing in feature films. Guerra's book, Under
Construction, chronicles the trials and tribulations of image issues, eating disorders, a
dysfunctional family, the politics of the entertainment industry, racism, financial setbacks and
everything in between all with Guerra's inimitable style, confidence and humor.
Winona La Duke: Native American Activist
"Environmental Justice From a Native Perspective"
The Harvard-educated activist is the founding director of the White Earth Land Recovery
Project, the co-chair of the Indigenous Women's Network, and the program director of Honor the
Earth where she provides vision and leadership for the organization's Regranting Program and
its Strategic Initiatives. In addition, she has worked for two decades on the land rights issues of
the White Earth Reservation, including litigation. Winona LaDuke began speaking about these
issues at an early age, addressing the United Nations at the age of 18, and continues to devote
herself to Native and environmental concerns, as well as political and women's issues.
Millard Fuller: Founder of Habitat for Humanity
MLK Speaker: Civic Engagement
Millard Fuller is the founder and former president of Habitat for Humanity International. His 29- year leadership forged Habitat into a worldwide Christian housing ministry, building 200,000 homes with projects in 100 countries worldwide. Fuller founded Habitat with his wife Linda in 1976. He travels and speaks worldwide and has earned international recognition for his work advocating decent, affordable housing for all. In September 1996, former President Bill Clinton awarded Fuller the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.
