The Beatles and Philosophy: Nothing You Can Think That Can't Be Thunk
Ron Zigler

Ronald Zigler, Associate Professor Educational Psychology, contributes one chapter to this collection of essays on the Beatles and philosophy.

Some of the essays in this volume, examine Beatles' themes philosophically. In these instances, the philosophical themes that are implicit in Beatles songs are made explicit by the authors.

In other essays, however, the authors consider how the Beatles themselves consciously advanced their own philosophical ideas. Ron Zigler's chapter falls into the latter group, as he examines the impact of Eastern culture on the music of the Beatles, as well as the manner in which the Beatles attempted to communicate concepts central to several traditions of Eastern Philosophy.

Listen to Ron recall who he hung out with while taking one of the Maharishi's courses in 1972 (2:00).
