DEFERRED GRADES
Deferred grades (DF) are given with the concurrence of the instructor and the registrar when a student is prevented from completing a course for reasons beyond his/her control. A student requesting permission for filing a deferred grade should contact the faculty member, who would then contact the College Registrar.
Deferred grades should be approved only in unusual circumstances and never because a student failed to complete course work without good reason.
The period during which a grade may be deferred shall not exceed six weeks after the beginning of the next session in which the student is enrolled in the University. A deferred grade that is not changed to a passing grade by the instructor before the end of this period automatically becomes an "F."
