ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

Academic integrity, the pursuit of scholarly activity free from fraud and deception, is an educational objective of this institution. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating, plagiarizing, fabricating information or citations, facilitating acts of academic dishonesty by others, having unauthorized possession of examinations, submitting work of another person or work previously used without informing the instructor, or tampering with the academic work of other students. At the beginning of each course, it is the responsibility of the instructor to provide a statement clarifying the application of academic integrity criteria to that course, in conformity with University Faculty Senate Policy 49-20 ( http://www.psu.edu/dept/ufs/policies/47-00.html#49-20 ) and Procedures G-9 ( http://www.psu.edu/dept/oue/aappm/G-9.html ). Faculty may only impose sanctions for academic dishonesty if a student is formally charged and the infraction recorded on the Abington College Academic Integrity Form. Contested sanctions will be referred to the College Academic Integrity Committee in accordance with College and University Policy.
