Penn State Abington hosts two British international student groups, April 2011.

The groups participated in academic and co-curricular programming on campus and in the Philadelphia area. The Division of Social Sciences and the Office of International Affairs welcomed back Bucks New University (BNU) for the second year in a row for a Criminal Justice and Sports Management Academic and co-curricular program. The University of Gloucestershire (U of G) returned to Penn State Abington for an International Business Management program and International Business Ethics Case Competition on campus.

While the groups differed in their academic discipline, the programs were similar in their co-curricular activities. Prior to their arrival, each BNU and U of G student was paired with a PSU Abington “buddy” via facebook. This allowed them to get to know each other prior to setting foot on campus. PSU Abington buddies are our international visiting students’ link to American and Abington culture as well as a new friend. Accommodated in a Philadelphia youth hostel, both groups were within walking distance of the sites of Historic Philadelphia.
