A Community of Outstanding Students
Honors students enroll in a distinctive curriculum of courses taught by top faculty and restricted to honors students. These classes are limited to a maximum of 15-20 students.
Scholarships
Students who excel in the program are supported with partial tuition scholarships throughout their careers at Penn State Abington.
Priority registration
Honors students register first, before the general student population. They are also among the first students considered for peer assistantships, jobs in the Learning Center, and positions as Orientation Leaders, Peer Mentors, and undergraduate research (ACURA) participants.
Undergraduate Research
Penn State Abington's undergraduate research program offers priority to interested honors students, allowing one-on-one collaboration with faculty as early as freshman year. Students present findings with their faculty sponsor and sometimes are invited to present at national conferences
Activities
Honors students attend free plays and trips. The Honors Program sponsors trips to Center City as well as regional destinations (e.g., DC, NYC, Baltimore) to see plays, visit museums, and attend concerts. Students choose which trips and activities the program sponsors each semester.
