Academics - Abington College Undergraduate Research Activities (ACURA)

2009 Logo Contest Rules

ACURA thanks you for your interest in participating in our 2009 Logo Design Contest!

We are looking for logos for two campus programs:

  • ACURA
  • Fhysics is Phun!

To guide you in the creative process, a description of each program is found below.

ACURA is an undergraduate research program dedicated to creating a hands-on research or creative experience across academic disciplines, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science and Engineering.

Fhysics is Phun, run in a lively game-show format, is a battle of wits and test of physics acumen, as each team tries to out-smart and trick their opponents into guessing wrong answers.

We are looking for logos that are completely unique to these Abington College unique programs, and therefore should not reflect any university-branding (ie. blue and white, nittany lions, etc.). Please see the following guidelines.

  • The main component of the design must contain the name of the program or event it's promoting (in this case ACURA, or Fhysics is Phun).
  • The design may have some sort of graphic element incorporated into it, or use letters or the word itself as the graphic element or elements.
  • The design may not incorporate preexisting University (including athletics) logos, emblems, marks in part or in whole.

The logo designs will be judged by an interdisciplinary panel of art and corporate communications students, faculty, and staff.

Please submit your logo designs either on a sheet of 8" x 11" paper, or electronically to the ACURA Program Coordinator, Dr. Leah Devlin, 119 Sutherland, by October 20.

Abington College Undergraduate Research Activities (ACURA) strives to develop students who are critical thinkers and creative scholars by engagement in scientific experimentation, inquiry-based research and exploration of the arts through a mentorship experience within our community of teacher-scholars.

Contact: Dr. Leah Devlin, 215-881-7560.
