Laureen Cantwell has been hired as Penn State Abington’s new Assistant Director of Development. Having previously worked within the Friends membership development department at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Laureen has recently moved to the Philadelphia region.
Laureen has a BA in English from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and completed a creative thesis of poetry. She is also Vassar’s 2006 recipient of the Deanne Beach Stoneham Prize for Poetry.
As her undergraduate years were spent in a small-college setting, Laureen is excited to be part of a higher education institution once again. "This time, though, I'm even more excited because I get to experience the relationship that Abington has with the overall Penn State University culture, who we are as a campus, and where we want to go. My job is to help us get there and, with all the great people I've met so far and the many more great people I anticipate meeting along the way, I look forward to the journey immensely."
